The "Love Boat" television series, based at the Port of Los Angeles for 10 years, no doubt helped establish Los Angeles as the busiest cruise port on the West Coast. Over 1 million passengers go through the World Cruise Center's two passenger terminals where up to four cruise ships can dock simultaneously. Most major cruise lines dock at the port including Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Cunard, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Princess. Carnival Cruise Lines offers cruises year-round and Royal Caribbean offers seasonal cruises to Baja and the Mexican Riveria.

The most popular cruises from the Port of Los Angeles are Baja Cruises and Mexican Riveria Cruises. Baja cruises usually stop on the northern end of the Baja Peninsula in Ensenada, Mexico and last three or four days. Four day Baja cruises often stop at Catalina Island as well. Mexican Riveria Cruises last about a week. Mexican Riveria Cruises sail to the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula and stop in Cabo San Lucas. Other stops on Mexican Riveria Cruises are further south and typically include Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan.

Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Ecstasy recently made a move from Miami to Los Angeles and now offers cruises to Baja Mexico. Carnival Ecstasy offers 3-Night and 4-Night Baja cruises throughout the year. Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas offers 2-Night, 3-Night and 4-Night Baja Cruises and a 7-Night Mexican Riveria Cruise from either Los Angeles or San Diego. Royal Caribbean Vision offers Baja Cruises from Los Angeles in October and November. Vision of the Seas also offers 7-Night Mexican Riveria Cruises from San Diego and Los Angeles with stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.

The World Cruise Center is located at berths 91, 92, 93A and 93B of the Port of Los Angeles. The Port of Los Angeles is located in San Pedro, California - just 18 miles south of Los Angeles Airport, 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and 10 miles east of Long Beach. >From the Los Angeles Airport - Travel South on the San Diego Freeway (I-405), then South on Harbor Freeway (I-110). Exit at Harbor Boulevard, go through the Harbor Blvd. Intersection. Turn right into the World Cruise Center.

>From Long Beach - Travel Eastbound on Ocean Boulevard, Seaside Avenue and the Vincent Thomas Bridge (State Highway 47). Exit at Harbor Boulevard, go straight through the intersection and turn right into the World Cruise Center.
